Life Groups for Fall 2008
Week of September 14th through week of December 7th:
ALPHA (beginning Week of September 14th for 10 weeks)
If you have not been involved in a life group at JCFC yet - this is where you should start!
Answer questions like "Is there more to life than this?" Find out at ALPHA, where you will explore the meaning of life - and the Christian faith - in ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. It is low-key, friendly, and fun!

"God's Purposes for Your Life" Bible Study
This study is designed to lead your group down a path to help you find the purpose-driven life together! This Life Group will give you an overview of the five biblical purposes God intends for living together in community as believers. Be prepared to spend about an hour of outside study time per week.

Financial Peace University
Financial Peace University is a life-changing program that teaches you how to make the right decisions with your money. You'll be empowered with the practical skills and confidence needed to achieve your financial goals and experience true financial peace! The course teaches how to save money, live on a budget, communicate about money, eliminate debt, find bargains, and experience the joy of giving FPU will change how you think about money!

The Nooma Series
The New Nooma DVD Series, with Rob Bell, is a series of short films with communications that really speak to us. Compact, portable, and concise. NOOMA touches on issues that we care about, that we want to talk about, and it comes in a way that fits our world.

"The Story"
"The Story reveals the unfolding, grand narrative of the Scriptures. Using the clear, accessible text of Today's New International Version, this rendering of the Bible allows its stories, poems and teachings to come together in a single, compelling read.

Cost: Cost: $15 for the "Story Book" (copies will be on hand)
Childcare will be provided, however, a volunteer to coordinate and provide transportation for the sitter is needed. Cost of childcare is $5/child/Sunday, with a $10/family/Sunday maximum. A weekly potluck dinner will be part of this group's fellowship. There is a need for a volunteer to coordinate a menu and group sign-up for the main course & needed fixin's.
Community and Coffee
Monthly community outreach and coffee fellowship. We'll find various public service projects to lend a helping hand! It's a great chance to serve those in need!

Men's Fraternity
The Men's Fraternity is the best foundational level or ground floor of manhood. This 24-session study focuses on man's core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues. This captivating journey helps men resolve wounds from their past; embrace a biblical definition of manhood, and develop their own personal manhood plan.

Prayer Team
This is an opportunity to develop a stronger prayer life. If you are interested in praying for prayer requests in the church and for the church itself, this is a great place for you.

Mom's Group
This Moms's group is a great time for moms to connect with one another and have an adult converstation, while the kids have time to play and get to know each other better.
Locations are put on the website each month. We meet at various locations around the Des Moines area. Back Yard Adventures, Jumpin Jacks, and Mall play areas, to name a few.

Girls Night Out
Women connecting - having girl time. We do interest based activities to service based activities. We have a few projects that we love to do each year - one is blessing the Women of Ruth Harbor with gift baskets. We love learning new hobbies - beading jewelry, card making, scrapbooking, and just eating out together and getting to know each other better.
